The Nissan Nismo GT-R RC (Racing Competition) is a mass-produced race car which will be launched at the 2011 Tokyo Auto Salon. According to the statement stated by Nissan, the NISSAN NISMO GT-R RC is the improved version of the RC (Racing Competition) line which is comprised of high performance production model race cars that NISMO has developed and outfitted for. The car is also built according to the top performance NISSAN GT-R (R35) road car. The car is built up from the before make over version of the R35 GT-R.
NISMO still uses the VR38DETT 3.8 liter twin-turbo V6 which delivers more than 485 hp and 588 Nm of torque. The vehicle doesn’t have the 530hp output that the refreshed version of the street-destined GT-R boasts but this racer features a lighter body, due to the use of carbon fiber for the bumper, hood, and trunk lid and rear wing. It also has acrylic rear windows. As a result, the vehicle only weighs 1,520 kg. Nissan NISMO GT-R RC resembles the car with a height which allows adjustable racing suspension and a smoother braking system that uses 410 mm (front) and 380 mm (rear) rotors. The vehicle uses ADVAN 290/710 R20 slick tires, which are standard for all RC models. When it comes to safety features, the vehicle has an FIA standards-compliant weld-in roll cage, bucket seat & driver safety harness, fire extinguisher, ATL 120 liter safety fuel cell and air jacks. The Nissan NISMO GT-R RC can be used on production car series from anywhere around the world.
